In the gritty underbelly of New York City, Detective Danny Ciello (played by) navigates the complex web of corruption within the Special Investigative Unit (SIU), earning himself the notorious moniker “Princes of the City.” This elite group operates with an air of impunity, often blurring the lines between justice and exploitation. As they engage in illicit practices such as skimming off criminal proceeds and arming informants with contraband, Ciello’s personal demons begin to resurface.

Haunted by a troubled past that includes a drug-addicted brother and a cousin tangled in organized crime, Ciello’s moral compass starts to waver after a violent encounter with a junkie. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of his downward spiral, as internal affairs and federal prosecutors conspire to bring him into their fold.
