Who is the notorious killer that confronts the family at the trailer park?

Plot Summary

In the desolate heart of a trailer park, where the only sound is the oppressive silence, a van pulls into view, its headlights casting an eerie glow on the dark surroundings. The woman who calls this worn-out trailer home stirs from her slumber, her senses heightened by the unfamiliar melody drifting from the van’s stereo. As she rises to investigate, she’s confronted with a figure shrouded in mystery - Dollface (Emma Bellomy), a notorious killer with a penchant for violence. Her presence is met with a mixture of fear and trepidation as she asks why she’s intruding on this private domain.

Meanwhile, a family consisting of Mike (Martin Henderson), Cindy (Christina Hendricks), their troubled teenager Kinsey (Bailee Madison), and young Luke (Lewis Pullman) are preparing for a much-needed getaway from the stresses of everyday life. Their destination: Gatlin Lake, where they’ll spend quality time with Uncle Marvin, who’s promised to provide a welcome respite from the chaos.

As they stop by the local park to pick up Luke, Kinsey’s frustration boils over as she feels trapped in a world that seems determined to define her solely by her misbehavior. Her parents’ attempts at reconciliation are met with resistance, and it becomes clear that this young woman is desperate for autonomy and self-discovery.

Upon arriving at the trailer park, Cindy ventures into the main shop, where she discovers a cryptic note and key left by Uncle Marvin, supposedly guiding them to their designated trailer. As they settle in, the family hears an ominous knock on the door, which Cindy answers with trepidation. To her surprise, it’s Dollface (minus her mask) lurking in the shadows, posing the haunting question: “Is Tamara home?” Despite Cindy’s assurances that this is the wrong place, Dollface vanishes into the night, leaving behind an unsettling sense of unease.

As Kinsey seeks refuge from her family and the world at large, she slips away to find solace in the great outdoors. Luke follows close behind, unaware of the horrors that await them. Their curiosity piqued by the open door of a neighboring trailer, they step inside, where they’re met with an eerie silence. The air is heavy with the stench of decay as they stumble upon Marvin’s gruesome corpse, his body riddled with signs of brutal mutilation.

Panic sets in as Luke and Kinsey flee the scene, only to be confronted once more by Dollface, her maskless visage a harbinger of doom. As Cindy takes Kinsey inside to call for help, Mike and Luke return to Uncle Marvin’s trailer, determined to uncover the truth behind the gruesome discovery that has left their lives forever scarred.

As Cindy’s world begins to unravel, she stumbles upon a gruesome discovery - every phone in sight has been brutally smashed. The eerie atmosphere is shattered by the sudden appearance of Dollface, wielding a knife and leaving no room for escape. Panicked, Cindy and Kinsey flee to the bathroom, where they attempt to lock themselves away from the horrors outside. However, Kinsey’s quick thinking and resourcefulness allow her to find an opening in the ceiling and make a daring escape, while Cindy sadly meets her demise at Dollface’s hands.

Meanwhile, Mike and Luke are left reeling after stumbling upon the gruesome remains of Marvin and his wife. Their sorrow is short-lived as they return to their trailer to find Cindy’s lifeless body, prompting them to break down in despair. Outside, they’re stalked by an unseen menace - the Man in the Mask (Damian Maffei). As they try to make sense of the chaos, Mike discovers Marvin’s gun and loads it, threatening to take aim at their tormentor, but the Man in the Mask vanishes into thin air.

The siblings attempt to escape their trailer home, only for the Man in the Mask to exact his revenge by shattering the windscreen with a thrown object, causing Mike to crash into another trailer. As they regain consciousness, Mike finds himself pinned down by a wooden beam from the neighboring porch, while Luke frantically tries to free him. In a moment of clarity, Mike hands Luke the gun and implores him to find Kinsey and get as far away from their nightmare as possible. With those parting words, Mike entrusts Luke with his safety before succumbing to his own fate at the hands of the Man in the Mask.

The villainous pursuer then sets his sights on Kinsey, hotly pursuing her in his car. She finds temporary refuge and defiantly yells at him to leave them be, but Pin-Up Girl emerges from nowhere, taunting Kinsey with a sinister grin. As she flees back to the trailer, Kinsey is brutally attacked by Dollface, who leaves her with a mangled arm and a punctured leg.

In the aftermath of chaos, Luke stumbles upon Kinsey’s battered form and valiantly holds off Dollface by threatening to shoot, eventually managing to grab Kinsey and make a break for it. As they regroup and tend to Kinsey’s wounds, she’s wracked with guilt, believing that her constant misbehavior is the reason behind their dire situation. Luke gently chides her, urging her to stop beating herself up over past mistakes.

However, just as they think they’ve found some semblance of peace, the Man in the Mask returns, ramming his car into the trailer and sending the siblings running for their lives. In a moment of desperation, Luke leaves the gun behind, marking the beginning of their desperate bid to survive and escape the clutches of their tormentors.

As Luke frantically searches for assistance, he leaves Kinsey concealed beneath a porch, hoping to keep her safe from harm. With the killers closing in, Luke darts to the nearest shop, where he seizes hold of the phone and places an emergency call to 911. However, his connection is abruptly severed as the perpetrators tamper with the power grid. Undeterred, Luke snatches a nearby golf club, only to be joined by Pin-Up Girl, who initially appears to attack him before being brutally struck across the face. As Luke attempts to unmask her, she counterattacks with a deadly intent. Fortunately, Luke manages to wrestle the knife from her grasp and deliver a fatal blow. Moments later, Man in the Mask materializes, wielding his trusty axe, and sets his sights on Luke. The two engage in a fierce underwater struggle for possession of the knife, with Luke fighting valiantly to escape the deadly grip. Unfortunately, Man in the Mask proves too cunning, stabbing Luke and leaving him to bleed out in the pool.

Meanwhile, Kinsey finds herself struggling to keep her friend hidden while desperately seeking help. Her efforts finally bear fruit when a police officer happens upon the scene, but before assistance can be rendered, Dollface appears, her blade slicing through the officer’s throat with deadly precision. Kinsey, desperate to escape, commandeers the officer’s van but soon finds herself facing off against Dollface once more. With cunning and resourcefulness, Kinsey seizes the officer’s rifle and delivers a hail of bullets that sends Dollface crashing to the ground. As she removes her mask, revealing a grotesque visage beneath, Kinsey demands to know why they have been targeted. The bloodied Dollface offers only a sadistic grin in response: “Why not?” Kinsey coldly dispatches her foe with another blast from the rifle.

Undeterred by the carnage around her, Kinsey sets out to locate Luke, but her rescue efforts are thwarted when Man in the Mask, miraculously revived from his earlier wounds, crashes into her van. As she surveys the scene, Kinsey notices that both vehicles are leaking fuel and seizes upon an opportunity. With a flick of her lighter, she ignites the flammable liquids, causing both cars to erupt in a spectacular blaze.

Despite this success, Man in the Mask somehow manages to survive the inferno, reappearing as Kinsey approaches a nearby bridge. His futile attempts to attack are met with brutal efficiency, as he succumbs to his injuries and falls to the ground, seemingly defeated.

As Kinsey surveys her surroundings, she spots an approaching vehicle, piloted by a woman and her son. Seizing the chance, Kinsey flagging them down, only to be confronted once more by Man in the Mask. With the woman’s car speeding away from the chaos, Kinsey takes refuge in the backseat as the mother speeds off into the night.

Man in the Mask, refusing to yield, endeavors one final time to strike Kinsey down, but she proves equal to the task, grabbing a nearby bat and delivering a merciless beating that finally silences her tormentor.

As Kinsey (played by actress) lies bedridden in the sterile confines of the hospital room, her thoughts are interrupted by the sudden return of reality. The beeping of machines and the steady hum of medical equipment provide a stark contrast to the silence that had enveloped her during her recovery from her ordeal. Meanwhile, Luke (actor name), still reeling from his own injuries, lies motionless beside her, his once-strong body now vulnerable and fragile. It is in this moment of quiet reflection that Kinsey decides to take a break from her own physical and emotional struggles to attend to a more pressing matter - the loud banging at her hospital room door. The insistent knocking grows louder still, refusing to be ignored, and Kinsey’s curiosity is piqued as she rises from her bed, her feet heavy with fatigue, but her heart filled with a sense of trepidation and anticipation. What could be causing such a commotion at this most inopportune moment?
