Martin Henderson

Martin Henderson, a New Zealand-born actor, was born on 8 October 1974 in Auckland. Renowned for his roles both in his home country and internationally, **Henderson’s early career** was marked in New Zealand's longest-running drama and soap opera Shortland Street (1992–1995), playing the teenage role of Stuart Neilson. In the United States, he gained recognition through various parts in American medical drama series such as **Off the Map** in 2011, playing Dr. Ben Keeton, and later in **Grey's Anatomy** as Dr. Nathan Riggs (2015–2017). His role as Noah Clay in the 2002 horror film **The Ring** further established his acting talent in Hollywood. From 2019 onwards, he has been co-starring in the Netflix romantic drama **Virgin River** as Jack Sheridan. Henderson began acting at 13, making his first appearance in **Strangers**, a local television production. In pursuit of a career in Hollywood films, he moved to the United States in 1997 and trained in a two-year program at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. His performances, like in **Windtalkers**, a John Woo-directed war film, and starring opposite Naomi Watts in **The Ring**, escalated his stardom. Henderson played the lead in a biker film **Torque** in 2004, appeared in pop icon Britney Spears' **'Toxic' music video**, and was part of the critically acclaimed **Little Fish** starring Cate Blanchett. In 2014, he starred in Australian drama television series **Secrets & Lies.** His role in **Everest** alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and a major part in **Grey's Anatomy** further added to his acclaim. Currently, he is featured in the Netflix series **Virgin River** and in the A24 horror film X (2022). Off-screen, Henderson remains notably private.
