What unique experiment led to the birth of Julius and Vincent?

Plot Summary

In a groundbreaking experiment, Julius and Vincent Benedict were born as fraternal twins, the result of combining sperm from six different fathers in an effort to create the ultimate individual. Their mother, Mary Ann Benedict, was deliberately misinformed about their fate at birth, led to believe they had perished. Meanwhile, the twins themselves grew up under vastly different circumstances. Vincent (DeVito) found himself at a Los Angeles orphanage, where he navigated a harsh environment devoid of parental guidance, ultimately falling prey to the allure of shady dealings and a life of petty crime. As his debts mounted, he became entangled in a web of loan sharks, including the notorious Klane brothers.

In stark contrast, Julius (Schwartzenegger) was whisked away to a remote South Pacific island, where he was taken under the wing of Professor Werner, one of the scientists involved in the experiment. Under Werner’s tutelage, Julius blossomed into a paragon of intellectual and physical prowess. He acquired fluency in twelve languages, demonstrated mastery over mathematics, history, science, and literature, and cultivated a deep sense of spirituality. However, his isolation from the world outside remained absolute until his 35th birthday, when he was finally informed about his twin brother’s existence.

As Vincent’s life continued to spiral out of control, he found himself arrested for unpaid parking fines, a humiliating blow that capped off a string of unfortunate events. With no one to turn to and his reputation in tatters, Vincent’s future looked increasingly bleak. Little did he know, however, that his twin brother Julius was on the cusp of re-entering the world, ready to shake things up and challenge the very notion of what it means to be a perfect child.

As Werner spills the long-held secret about Julius’s unknown sibling, he embarks on a journey to Los Angeles to reconnect with his mysterious brother Vincent. Unbeknownst to Vincent, Julius’s innocence and naivety clash with the harsh realities of the world his brother inhabits. This disparity becomes apparent when Julius bails Vincent out of jail, only to be callously dismissed in the prison car park. Undeterred, Julius tracks Vincent down to his workplace, where he intervenes in a brutal beating inflicted by Morris, one of the Klane brothers, over an unpaid debt. With ease, Julius defeats Morris and earns Vincent’s respect, marking a turning point in their relationship.

As Julius navigates Vincent’s orbit, he meets Linda Mason, his brother’s on-again, off-again love interest. Lacking experience with women, Julius is perplexed by the flirtatious advances of Marnie, Linda’s blonde sister, who harbors a deep-seated dislike for Vincent. However, Julius eventually finds himself smitten with Linda. Meanwhile, Vincent shares a stolen document from their orphanage days, revealing that Linda’s mother may still be alive. Yet, Vincent’s own painful past has led him to believe his mother abandoned him at birth, rendering him apathetic about tracing her down. In stark contrast, Julius is driven by curiosity and sets out to find their mother’s address on the document.

Upon visiting the address, Julius discovers that their mother is not present, but he does encounter one of his six biological fathers, who sheds light on the clandestine experiment that brought him into being. This revelation leads him to Mitchell Traven, a scientist who may possess knowledge about their mother’s whereabouts. As Julius delves deeper into the mystery surrounding his family’s past, he begins to unravel the tangled threads that connect him to Vincent and Linda, ultimately setting the stage for a journey of self-discovery and unexpected twists.

As Vincent (character) embarks on a perilous cross-country adventure, he finds himself at the helm of a stolen Cadillac, its trunk housing a revolutionary prototype fuel injector worth a small fortune. The prize? A cool five million dollars, which he hopes to use to settle his debts with the notorious Klane brothers. Accompanied by two couples, Vincent sets out on a high-stakes journey to track down the elusive Traven, whose whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery.

Their odyssey takes them from Houston, Texas, to Los Alamos, New Mexico, where they finally pinpoint Traven’s location. The enigmatic figure reveals that their mother is alive and well at an art colony nestled near Santa Fe, but her passing has been kept under wraps. Undeterred, the group presses on, only to encounter the Klane brothers once more at a roadside bar. In a tense showdown, Julius and Vincent emerge victorious, having vanquished their tormentors for the final time.

As they approach the art colony, the duo is met with devastating news: their mother has indeed passed away. The revelation prompts them to leave, unaware that the woman who had shared this sorrowful truth was, in fact, their own mother – though she had been unaware of her twin sons’ existence, fearing they were land speculators.

Meanwhile, a sinister figure lurks in the shadows, tracking Vincent’s every move. Meet Mr. Webster, a ruthless operative with an unsettling habit of dispatching anyone who crosses his path. His modus operandi? Eliminating anyone who might recognize his face, thereby preserving his anonymity. In a previous encounter, Webster had infiltrated Vincent’s home, only to cross paths with the Klane brothers. A skirmish ensued, resulting in the temporary disablement of two of the brothers, but Webster’s true intentions remained shrouded in mystery – for now.

As the dust settles on their mother’s passing, Vincent’s pent-up emotions boil over, unleashing a torrent of anger and frustration towards Linda and Julius. The stormy atmosphere culminates in Vincent’s dramatic exit, leaving Julius and the girls stranded in New Mexico with the crucial task of delivering an engine to Beetroot McKinley. Undeterred, Linda fills Julius in on the engine’s significance, prompting him to embark on a perilous journey to track down his wayward brother.

Meanwhile, Vincent completes his mission to deliver the stolen property to McKinley, only to have his plans foiled when Webster arrives on the scene, gunning down McKinley and setting his sights on Vincent. As Julius intervenes, Vincent flees, but not before hearing his brother’s voice, prompting him to turn back and surrender the money to the ruthless Webster. However, just as all hope seems lost, Julius buys time for Vincent to exact a clever revenge, dispatching Webster with a heavy chain and burying him in a mountain of metal links.

As the dust settles on this intense confrontation, the brothers are finally able to mend their fractured bond. Vincent reluctantly agrees to return the stolen goods to the authorities, but not before secretly pocketing a million-dollar windfall. The twins’ newfound fame reaches the art colony, and their mother is stunned to discover that the two “comedians” who visited her were, in fact, her long-lost sons.

In the aftermath of their reconciliation, Julius and Vincent return the money (with Vincent keeping his ill-gotten gain), tie the knot with their respective partners, and use the $50,000 reward money to launch a legitimate consulting business. This venture combines Julius’s expertise with Vincent’s unorthodox entrepreneurial flair. Their mother eventually tracks them down to their office, where they share a heartwarming reunion.

As the years pass, both brothers go on to father pairs of twins with their spouses, and their mother becomes the matriarch of a big, happy family that includes Professor Werner. In this bittersweet conclusion, Julius and Vincent finally find closure and a sense of belonging, surrounded by the people they love.
