Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. (born November 17, 1944) is an acclaimed American actor, comedian, and filmmaker. Danny DeVito rose to prominence portraying taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the television series Taxi (1978–1983), which fetched him a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award. He currently stars as the character Frank Reynolds on the FXX sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005–present).

DeVito is recognisable for his film roles in notable productions such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), Twins (1988), and Matilda (1996) among many others. He is also known for his voice acting in films such as Hercules (1997) and The Lorax (2012). Aside from acting, Devito co-founded the production company Jersey Films responsible for hit films like Pulp Fiction (1994), and Freedom Writers (2007). He also owned Jersey Television, which produced the noteworthy Comedy Central series Reno 911. A multifaceted talent, Devito has also left his mark on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for his compelling performance in Arthur Miller's The Price (2017).
