As Yu takes refuge in a Hong Kong safe house operated by a renowned North Korean singer, he receives instructions to return to Seoul and establish contact with an agent known only as White Horse. Yet, his suspicions are piqued, and he sets a trap to uncover the truth, revealing that White Horse is, in fact, working in tandem with Colonel Klaus. The revelation proves fatal for White Horse, who meets their untimely demise at the hands of an unknown assailant.

Meanwhile, Yu's reconnaissance mission yields valuable intel from Janet O'Neill, which indicates that John Foster Dulles is scheduled to visit Europe to procure reinforcements. Seizing this opportunity, Yu befriends Lewis, a stalwart army lieutenant, and successfully converts him to the Communist cause. Lewis then orchestrates his own kidnapping, allowing him to disappear into the North for training and later reappear in Seoul.

Two months pass before Yu receives a coded message on Voice of Korea, instructing him to establish contact with an agent known as Diamond. To his surprise, this individual is revealed to be his former lover, Kim Soon-hee, who claims to be working on behalf of the Americans but secretly serves as a double agent for North Korean intelligence.

As Dulles's true agenda is exposed to the media, the US prepares to launch a battle to demonstrate its military prowess. However, Yu acquires this information from Park Mu and passes it along to Pyongyang, ultimately thwarting American plans. The US fails to secure additional reinforcements from their European allies and suffers a crushing defeat at the hands of the well-prepared Korean People's Army.

Yu continues his intelligence-gathering efforts by passing messages back to Pyongyang through a radio operator masquerading as a disabled veteran who solicits donations outside hotels. He hides vital information within cigarette filters, which he then carelessly discards near the beggar. Unbeknownst to him, the CIC is tracking his activities, filming every move.

Kim soon becomes aware of Yu's methods and saves the day by editing out incriminating footage from the tapes, thereby avoiding further suspicion being cast upon her lover.
