**Dennis Dexter Haysbert** was born on June 2, 1954, and is a renowned American actor. He is recognized for his roles in several films and tv shows, like Pedro Cerrano in the 'Major League' trilogy, Secret Service agent Tim Collin in the film 'Absolute Power', and as Sergeant Major Jonas Blane in the CBS series 'The Unit'. More notably, Haysbert has been acknowledged for his role as President David Palmer on the initial five seasons of '24', and God in the Netflix series 'Lucifer'. Haysbert's acting career launched in 1978, kicking off with a guest role in 'The White Shadow'. His talent led to guest-starring roles on various shows like 'Lou Grant', 'Dallas', 'The Incredible Hulk' and others. His essence of work extends to the realm of commercial too, acting as the official spokesman for the Allstate Insurance Company since 2003. Haysbert was born in San Mateo, California, the son of Gladys, a homemaker, and Charles Whitney Haysbert Sr., a deputy sheriff and airline security guard.
