Ewan Gordon McGregor OBE is a renowned Scottish actor who has made significant contributions to both film and theatre. He was born on 31 March 1971 in Perth, Scotland. McGregor's career started with a leading role in the British series 'Lipstick on Your Collar' in the early 1990s. He gained international recognition for his star roles as drug-addict Mark Renton in 'Trainspotting' and as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the 'Star Wars' prequel trilogy. Over the years, he has displayed his versatility through starring roles in a diverse range of films like musical 'Moulin Rouge!', action film 'Black Hawk Down', and thriller 'Angels And Demons'. He made his directorial debut with the crime film 'American Pastoral' in 2016, and won an Emmy for his portrayal of fashion designer Halston in the eponymous miniseries in 2021. Apart from his on-screen endeavours, McGregor has also dabbled in theatre and is known for his roles in 'Guys and Dolls' and 'Othello'. He is also an active philanthropist, serving as an ambassador for UNICEF UK since 2004.
