Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal is an established American actor who sprouted to fame for his role as Shane Walsh on the AMC horror drama series, The Walking Dead. He achieved additional recognition as Frank Castle, or The Punisher, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), in series like Daredevil and The Punisher. Bernthal's film repertoire is extensive, including movies like Snitch, The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury, Sicario, The Accountant, Baby Driver, Wind River, Widows, Ford v Ferrari, Those Who Wish Me Dead, King Richard, The Many Saints of Newark, etc. He is set to reprise his role as The Punisher in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. He is now part of a new series called the Bear. Bernthal has an active career in theater and has played in more than thirty plays. Earlier in his career, he started acting in off-Broadway plays and slowly worked his way up to significant roles. He studied method acting at the Moscow Art Theatre in Russia, where he was discovered by the executive director of Harvard University's Institute for Advanced Theater Training. Narrating his personal life, Bernthal ties strong bonds with his family; indeed, he descends from a lineage of notable individuals, such as his orthopedic surgeon brother Nicholas, his consulting agency CEO brother Thomas who is married to billionaire and former Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, and his deceased musician and producer grandfather Murray Bernthal. His cousin was rock musician Adam Schlesinger. Jon Bernthal has been taking significant steps in his charity and advocacy endeavors, running a nonprofit and supporting the equal treatment of pit bulls.
