Kelsey Grammer

Allen Kelsey Grammer (born February 21, 1955) is an award-winning American actor, comedian, and producer. He garnished fame for his role as the psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane on the NBC sitcom Cheers and its spin-off Frasier, a role he played for over 20 years, making it one of the longest-running roles by a single live-action actor in primetime television history. Trained as an actor at Juilliard and the Old Globe Theatre, he made his professional debut in the 1981 Broadway revival of Macbeth and has had a diverse career, with roles in films such as X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), and in the animation Anastasia (1997). Grammer has received numerous accolades, including six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Tony Award. Harnessing his talent in the theatre, Grammer starred in productions of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, My Fair Lady, and Sunday in the Park with George, among others. His film credits also include Down Periscope (1996), The Pentagon Wars (1998), and voice roles in Toy Story 2 (1999). His voice work extends to television where he is known as the voice of Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons. Additionally, he took guest roles in sitcoms such as 30 Rock, Modern Family, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Returning to Broadway in 2010, he starred in the musical revival of La Cage aux Folles, for which he received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. Grammer made a remarkable shift from his comedy roots playing the corrupt mayor in the Starz political series Boss (2011–2012), receiving a Golden Globe Award for the role.
