Molly Ringwald

**Molly Kathleen Ringwald**, born on February 18, 1968 in Roseville, California, is a multifaceted American talent known for her work as an actress, writer, and translator. Ringwald first sprung to fame as a child actress in the sitcoms _Diff'rent Strokes_ and _The Facts of Life_ in 1979-1980. Her raw talent was recognized when she scored a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the drama film _Tempest_ (1982). She became a teen idol following her roles in John Hughes's teen films _Sixteen Candles_ (1984), _The Breakfast Club_ (1985), and _Pretty in Pink_ (1986), which led to her being referred to as a member of the 'Brat Pack'. Her last teen roles were in _For Keeps_ and _Fresh Horses_ (both in 1988). After her successful early career in Hollywood, Ringwald moved to Paris and began acting in French films.
