Morena Silva de Vaz Setta Baccarin, is an American actress known for several significant roles in popular TV series and films. She first gained prominence portraying Adria in season 10 of the TV series Stargate SG-1, and made her mark in the sci-fi television series Firefly (2002–2003) as Inara Serra, continuing the role in the follow-up film Serenity (2005). Her comic chops were evident in the superhero comedy films Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) wherein she played Vanessa. She attained critical acclaim with the thriller series Homeland (2011–2013) as Jessica Brody, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2013.

Continuing her career trajectory, Baccarin starred as Leslie Thompkins in the superhero series Gotham (2015–2019). Baccarin was born on June 2, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil exhibiting early signs of her acting prowess, eventually training at the Juilliard School. Her expansive career also includes voice roles such as Black Canary in Justice League Unlimited, guest appearances in proactive roles such as a transgender woman in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and the lead role of Anna in ABC's V*, for which she received high praise.
