Noomi Rapace, born as Noomi Norén on 28 December 1979, is a world-renowned Swedish actress who achieved international fame with her forceful portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of the Millennium series: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. Her outstanding performance in the Millennium series won her numerous accolades including two Nymphe d'Ors, a Guldbagge Award, and a Satellite Award as Best Actress. She was also nominated for a BAFTA Award, an International Emmy Award, and a European Film Award.

Beyond the Millennium series, Rapace showcased her talent in American films as well as in a multitude of roles in other Swedish productions. Some of her notable roles include Anna in Daisy Diamond, Madame Simza Heron in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and Elizabeth Shaw in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. She was born in Hudiksvall, Sweden to Nina Norén, a Swedish actress, and Rogelio Durán, a Spanish flamenco singer. She is fluent in Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian, English, and her native language, Swedish. Rapace embarked on her acting journey at a tender age of seven, enrolling in a Stockholm theatre school at age 15, and has been active in the industry since 1988. She continues to deliver powerful performances, owning leading roles in various films and series such as Lamb, The Trip, You Wont Be Alone, and Black Crab.
