Twelve-year-old Andrew, a resident of New Jersey, bravely asks a party host out, but his hopes are dashed when she declines, citing the age gap between them. Fast forward a decade, and Andrew’s life takes a turn when his girlfriend, Maya, relocates to Barcelona to complete her Fulbright. Tasked with taking his twelve-year-old brother David to a bat mitzvah, Andrew encourages the kids to let loose on the dance floor. There, he meets Domino and her autistic daughter, Lola, whose presence captivates him. Despite rumors swirling around Domino at the party, Andrew makes an impression and successfully encourages Lola to dance, catching Domino off guard.

As the atmosphere shifts, the party mothers take notice of Andrew’s charm and decide to employ him as a party starter for upcoming celebrations, bestowing upon him the title of Jig Conductor. With dreams of reuniting with Maya in Barcelona, he is determined to earn money.

However, not all goes smoothly. During a subsequent party, Andrew is dismissed as the DJ after standing up to a bully, defending Lola. In a surprising twist, Andrew finds Domino in a restroom, bloodied, but learns that the injury is not what it seems—she has suffered a miscarriage. After helping Domino and Lola, a kiss ignites a spark between Andrew and Domino. The budding romance complicates when Andrew has an intimate encounter with his friend, Macy, the next day.

As Andrew interviews for an internship, he continues to navigate his feelings for Domino, now aware of her fiancé, Joseph, who works in Chicago. Their relationship evolves, and Andrew is warmly welcomed into Domino’s life, showcasing a nurturing bond with both her and Lola. It becomes increasingly clear that Andrew harbors feelings for Domino, yet he must contend with her loyalty to Joseph. The situation climaxes when a heated confrontation erupts at a bar mitzvah, leading Andrew to profess his love for Domino, only to be met with rejection as she insists her heart belongs to Joseph.

Amidst all the chaos, Andrew secures his internship but finds himself fired from his role as Lola’s caretaker by Joseph. As family tensions rise, Andrew faces the reality of his unrequited feelings and the complexities of love. After a heartfelt conversation with David, revealing the joys and pains of first kisses, Andrew decides to move out, signaling a transition in his life.

In an emotional farewell, Domino encourages Andrew to embrace life and its myriad experiences before settling down. Six months later, as life rolls on, viewers witness Domino marrying Joseph while Andrew revels in carefree moments, dancing with friends at a bar, embodying the spirit of living in the moment.
