Check out what happened in The First Purge!

As the narrative unwinds, we're introduced to Skeletor (Rotimi Paul), a junkie consumed by an insatiable hunger for chaos and destruction. He confides in another individual about his morbid desires, expressing a deep-seated need to purge himself of humanity's constraints. The other man is intrigued by Skeletor's use of the term "purge" and assures him that he'll soon have the opportunity to unleash his inner demons.

Against this backdrop of social and economic turmoil in the United States, a new political entity emerges: the New Founding Fathers of America. This enigmatic organization seeks to supplant both the democratic and republican parties, promising an unprecedented experiment on Staten Island. Chief of Staff Arlo Sabian (Patch Darragh) and Dr. May Updale (Marisa Tomei) are instrumental in designing this 12-hour extravaganza, which will grant citizens a unique opportunity to relinquish their inhibitions.

Residents of Staten Island are offered a substantial sum of $5000 to remain within the safety of their homes during the experiment, with additional compensation for those who participate. Participants are equipped with tracking devices and camera contact lenses to monitor their activities, further blurring the lines between reality and surveillance.

Meanwhile, Dmitri (Y'lan Noel), a ruthless drug lord, instructs his dealers that they will be vacating Staten Island on Purge Night. One of his loyal lieutenants, Capital A (Christian Robinson), expresses a desire to stay behind and indulge in the mayhem, but Dmitri's trusted enforcer, Blaise (Siya), swiftly silences him with a brutal display of force.

In another corner of the narrative, we meet Isaiah (Joivan Wade), a young drug dealer who crosses paths with Skeletor. The latter harasses Isaiah, vowing to target his sister Nya (Lex Scott Davis) on Purge Night. Isaiah's attempts to defend himself are met with a vicious attack from Skeletor, who slashes his neck with a razor before fleeing the scene. As Isaiah tenders to his wounds at home, he is discovered by his sister, who is passionately opposed to the Purge. Nya confronts Dmitri, an individual she has a complicated history with, accusing him of exploiting her brother's services. However, Dmitri insists that he was unaware of Isaiah's involvement and would never have accepted him as one of his own.

As the sun dips below the horizon on the fateful evening, a sea of islanders pours onto ferries, fleeing the impending chaos. Amidst this exodus, Nya (character) reunites with her friends Dolores (Mugga) and Luisa (Luna Lauren Velez), as well as Luisa's daughter Selina (Kristen Solis), at a local church, where they huddle together in anxious anticipation of the Purge. Meanwhile, Isaiah's (character) whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery; unbeknownst to Nya, he has opted to stay behind and participate in the mayhem, driven by his fixation on Skeletor.

As the clock strikes midnight, Dmitri finds himself ensconced in his office, oblivious to the carnage unfolding outside. Unbeknownst to him, Capital A has dispatched two seductresses to keep him company, their intentions far from innocent. The duo's true nature is soon revealed as they morph into ruthless Purgers, hell-bent on eliminating Dmitri and claiming his domain.

Isaiah ventures out into the night, armed with a gun and a determination to confront Skeletor. His search leads him to a gruesome scene: a man being stabbed to death by Skeletor, who has joined forces with the Purge. This inaugural atrocity is captured on camera and quickly spreads like wildfire, fueling the NFFA's enthusiasm for the mayhem.

As the night wears on, Skeletor stalks the streets, leaving a trail of bloodshed in his wake. He crashes a raucous rave, dispatching partygoers with calculated brutality before Isaiah corners him. However, instead of pulling the trigger, Isaiah hesitates and abandons his gun, fleeing for his life as Skeletor gives chase.

Isaiah stumbles upon a fleeting moment of respite, seizing the opportunity to phone Nya for aid. As she sets out to rescue him, Dmitri finds himself in a desperate struggle against the Purgers sent by Capital A. These deadly adversaries, masquerading as seductresses, seek to claim his territory and eliminate him.

In a parallel narrative thread, Nya becomes Skeletor's captive, her life hanging precariously in the balance. Just as all hope seems lost, Isaiah intervenes, striking down Skeletor with a well-placed stab wound before whisking Nya away to safety. Meanwhile, Dmitri emerges victorious from his ordeal, having fended off the Purgers and outwitted Capital A's plans to claim dominion over his domain.

As Nya (character name) and Isaiah return to the church, they're met with a gruesome scene: Purgers emerging from the sanctuary, their bodies smeared with blood and carnage. The chaos subsides, allowing Nya to locate Luisa and Selina, who, though battered and bruised, remain alive but oblivious to Dolores's whereabouts. Seeking refuge, the trio heads to Nya and Isaiah's apartment, only to find Dolores waiting for them, her shaken demeanor a testament to her harrowing journey through the treacherous streets.

Meanwhile, at the NFFA headquarters, Updale reviews the disturbing footage of the night's events, her eyes widening in horror as she witnesses teams of mercenaries slaughtering innocent civilians, including those at the church. Sabian reveals to her that he had ordered mercenaries to target impoverished neighborhoods, attempting to balance the scales between the haves and have-nots. As Updale processes this revelation, Sabian has her taken to a seedy neighborhood, where she's ultimately executed. The footage of her demise is subsequently deleted.

In a separate development, Capital A pays a visit to Dmitri (character name), inquiring about his whereabouts. He soon finds himself face-to-face with Dmitri's loyal entourage, who draw their guns and prepare for a showdown. As the tension builds, Dmitri emerges, executes Capital A, and dispatches his goons before turning his attention to his own crew. However, their reunion is short-lived, as they're ambushed by Purgers clad in Klan regalia. The Klansmen unleash a hail of bullets upon the men, only to be met with smoke bombs that render them helpless against Dmitri's retribution. As he reunites with his entire crew, the group finds themselves cut down by NFFA drones.

As Dmitri (actor name) discovers the mercenaries' intended target - Nya's apartment - he swiftly springs into action. With his keen instincts, he advises her to lie low and gather whatever resources she can muster to safeguard herself and those around her. However, it's a futile effort, as the ruthless mercenaries unleash a hail of gunfire on every floor, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Undeterred, Dmitri takes matters into his own hands, arming himself with an arsenal of weapons and charging headfirst into battle.

In a flurry of fists and firepower, he takes down three mercs, claiming two lives with his trusty firearms and silencing the third with his unyielding grip. Meanwhile, Luisa (actor name), Selina (actor name), and Dolores (actor name) retreat to the safety of a closet, hoping to avoid the carnage unfolding around them.

As Dmitri continues to vanquish the mercenaries, he eventually joins forces with Nya and Isaiah (actor name). Together, they prepare for a showdown as two mercs attempt to breach their stronghold. Nya takes matters into her own hands, disabling both attackers with precise shots to their legs before she and Isaiah exact a gruesome revenge.

Just as all seems lost, Skeletor (actor name) appears out of nowhere, striking down three mercenaries before succumbing to his own mortal wounds. With the remaining threats neutralized, Dmitri seizes an opportunity to turn the tide in their favor. He confiscates a C4 explosive and sets it off with devastating consequences, obliterating any lingering mercs.

As the sirens signal the end of the Purge's reign of terror, Dmitri, though wounded, stumbles out of the wreckage alongside Nya and Isaiah. The other survivors congregate outside, hailing Dmitri as a hero who has single-handedly turned the tide against their oppressors.

Isaiah queries about their next move, prompting Dmitri to proclaim that it's time for them to take the fight to the very heart of their tormentors. As the credits roll, Sabian (actor name) issues a statement, gloating about the Purge's success and announcing plans for a nationwide implementation starting the following year.

The fate of those who survived this brutal onslaught hangs precariously in the balance, as they must now confront the harsh realities of their struggle against an enemy that shows no signs of relenting.
