What's After the Movie
Adjetiy Anang (born 7 July 1973) is a celebrated Ghanaian actor best known for his iconic role as Pusher in the beloved television series Things We Do for Love and later in the youth‑focused series YOLO. Growing up in Ghana, Anang attended Labone Senior High School before pursuing Fine Arts at the University of Ghana, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for visual storytelling. He further refined his craft by obtaining a master’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, a move that broadened his perspective and equipped him with a versatile skill set that would later define his on‑screen performances. Over the past two decades Anang has built an extensive filmography that includes critically acclaimed Ghanaian productions such as Deadly Voyage, A Sting in a Tale, The Perfect Picture, Double Cross, and Sugar, as well as an international Dutch project titled Slavery. His ability to inhabit diverse characters—from the street‑wise youth in YOLO to the nuanced roles of Ben Boateng in Double Cross and Kwesi in Citation—has earned him a reputation as one of Ghana’s most adaptable actors. Recognized by his peers, he has received numerous honors including the ACRAG Talent Award, the Ghana Union of Theatre Societies (GUTS) Best Actor Award, and the 2022 Exclusive Men of the Year Africa Actor of the Year accolade. In July 2023, coinciding with his 50th birthday, Anang launched his memoir Adjetey Anang: A Story of Faith, Imperfection, and Resilience, offering an intimate glimpse into his journey from modest beginnings to cinematic fame. He is married to Elorm Anang, with whom he shares a son, and continues to influence Ghanaian cinema through both his performances and mentorship of emerging talent.
