What's After the Movie
Aghniny Haque (born 8 March 1997) is an Indonesian actress, model and former taekwondo athlete who rose to prominence through both her sporting achievements and her rapid transition to the silver screen. Born in Semarang, Central Java, she is the only child of Suryono R. Permono and Asma Farida, and she grew up immersed in the cultural vibrancy of her hometown while developing a fierce dedication to martial arts. From a young age she displayed remarkable agility and discipline, joining the Indonesian national taekwondo team in 2011, where she honed her technique under rigorous training programs. Despite a promising trajectory, a knee injury in 2016 forced her out of the national squad, but not before she amassed a commendable medal haul: a bronze at the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, silver at the 2014 Asian Championships in Tashkent, gold medals at the Hong Kong Open, Thailand Open (youth categories) and a pivotal gold contribution at the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang. Her athletic career, spanning 2011‑2016, cemented her reputation as a resilient competitor and national sports figure.
In 2018, Haque redirected her ambition toward acting, enrolling in a competitive audition for Wiro Sableng: Pendekar Kapak Maut Naga Geni 212 and securing the role of Rara Murni. This breakthrough opened doors to a string of notable Indonesian productions, including Wedding Agreement (2019), Impetigore (2019), Habibie & Ainun 3 (2019), the viral sensation KKN di Desa Penari (2022), Stealing Raden Saleh (2022), and Tuhan Izinkan Aku Berdosa (2023). Beyond the screen, she has cultivated a modeling career, appearing in fashion spreads and endorsing local brands, thereby expanding her influence across entertainment and lifestyle sectors. Haque’s journey from a disciplined taekwondo champion to a celebrated actress underscores her versatile talent, unwavering determination, and rising stature in contemporary Indonesian popular culture.
