Alfredo Castro

Alfredo Castro is a prominent Chilean film and television actor. He is best known for his collaborations with Chilean director Pablo Larraín, appearing in all of the director's features from Fuga in 2006 to El Club in 2015. Castro's performance in the latter earned him the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival. Among his notable roles were Raúl Peralta in Tony Manero (2008) and the sadistic prison warden in Larraín's Post Mortem (2010). In addition to his work in film and television, Castro is also a theatre director and playwright, founding the Teatro La Memoria theatre group in 1988.

Throughout his career, Castro has been praised for his intense, transformative performances.
