Amos Tamam

Amos Tamam (born 6 September 1977 in Ramla, Israel) grew up in a traditional Jewish family of Tunisian descent and spent his formative years immersed in the cultural mosaic of his hometown. After completing his compulsory service as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces, he turned his discipline toward the performing arts, enrolling in local acting workshops and quickly gaining notice for his charismatic presence. His first television breakthrough arrived in 2004 with the musical drama Our Song, where he portrayed a young artist for two seasons, establishing a reputation for versatility that would define his later work. Over the following years he expanded into comedy, drama and action, becoming a familiar face on Israeli screens while simultaneously cultivating a robust stage career at the Cameri and Habima theaters. His dedication to both mediums earned him the Israeli Television Academy’s Best Actor award three times (2011, 2012, 2022), underscoring his status as one of the most respected actors of his generation. On the big screen Tamam debuted with supporting parts in Little Heroes and quickly moved to leading roles in films such as Three Mothers, Now or Never and the romantic comedy Good Boy Jerusalem (2016). He continued to showcase range by headlining the action thriller Bayonet (2013), lending his voice to the Hebrew version of the animated hit Ferdinand (2017), and starring in the contemporary drama Halomim (2018). Television proved equally fertile: memorable characters include the earnest divorcee Amir in the cult series Srugim, the determined officer Eric Arbel in One Zero Zero, and the enigmatic vampire Judah in the HOT3 series of the same name. More recently he has appeared in the suspenseful Manaich and the politically charged What Happened in Oslo, while 2024 sees him leading the acclaimed drama The Best Worst Thing alongside Ayelet Zurer. Beyond acting, Tamam co‑hosts the fashion label ML and maintains a strong connection to his roots. In his personal life he married fellow actress Tal Nerubai in September 2013; the couple welcomed a daughter in 2017 after a tragic stillbirth and added a son in 2021, completing a family that mirrors his commitment to resilience and creativity.
