Aneurin Barnard is a widely recognized Welsh actor. Born on May 8, 1987, Barnard hails from Bridgend in Wales. He is the son of a factory worker named June and a coal miner named Terry Barnard, with Welsh as his primary language. After his secondary school years at Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari in Rhondda Cynon Taf, he completed his training at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where he graduated in 2008 and was credited with the RWCMD Associate Award in 2019. Involved in theatre work since the young age of 11, he has a rich history of participation in numerous theatrical productions, such as The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Hobson's Choice, The Importance of Being Earnest and West Side Story. He won the Laurence Olivier Award for his star performance in the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening.

On screen, Barnard's body of work ranges from TV series like Jacob's Ladder, Doctors, Casualty, Shameless, and Y Pris, to movies like Hunky Dory and The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box.
