August Diehl

__August Diehl__ is a prominent German actor who was born on 4th January 1976. He is world renowned for his impeccable portrayal of Gestapo major Dieter Hellstrom in Quentin Tarantino's _Inglourious Basterds_ (2009) and as Michael "Mike" Krause, Evelyn Salt's spouse, in the film _Salt_. His star performances do not just end there. Diehl has also led in _The Counterfeiters_ (2007), _The Young Karl Marx_ (2017), and Terrence Malick's _A Hidden Life_ (2019). His acting prowess was recognized in 2000 when the European Film Promotion named him one of European film's Shooting Stars. In 2024, he enthralled audiences with his role in the fantasy-drama _The Master and Margarita_, where he played a devil-like character named Woland. His newest projects include _The Disappearance_, where he plays Josef Mengele, and the action movie, _Control_. Diehl's repertoire will soon expand with a role in the 2025 fantasy-drama _The Ice Tower_.
