Ben Chaplin

**Benedict John Greenwood**, known in the film and television industry as **Ben Chaplin**, is an accomplished British actor. Born on 31st July 1969 in Windsor, Berkshire, England, Ben Chaplin discovered his passion for acting in his teenage years. His foundation in the acting field was laid down at the Princess Margaret Royal Free School, where he was involved in theatre productions. He further enriched his acting prowess at the esteemed Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After combing through various odd jobs, he propelled his acting career in the 1990s, making appearances in BBC television dramas and cinema films. Notable early roles include performances in The Remains of the Day and in Bye Bye Baby for Channel Four. His impressive character portrayal earned him good reviews for his role as Tom Wingfield in Sam Mendes' stage production of The Glass Menagerie, culminating in an Olivier award nomination in 1995. With a solid foothold in the British Television sphere, he expanded his talent to the United States, starring in a variety of roles in significant films. His acting versatility led him to be cast in romantic comedy, The Truth About Cats & Dogs, a drama, Washington Square and in the horror film Lost Souls. Later, he marked his imprint in films like Murder by Numbers, Stage Beauty, and Dorian Gray to name a few. His recurring contribution to the acting community spans from acting in romantic dramas, dark thrillers, comedic dramas to miniseries on television. Aside from his sparkling film career, Chaplin continues to make his presence known in the theatre scene with recent appearances in acclaimed plays like This Is How It Goes, and The Reporter.
