Ben Daniels (born 10 June 1964) is an English actor recognized initially as a stage performer who graduated from the reputable London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Daniels received nominations for prestigious awards such as the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor for Never the Sinner (1991), and the Evening Standard Award for Best Actor for 900 Oneonta (1994). Meanwhile, he won the 2001 Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Arthur Miller play All My Sons. Eventually, Daniels transitioned to the screen acting, featuring in popular television series like Cutting It (2002–04), The Virgin Queen (2005), and House of Cards (2013–14). He is also known for his roles in the Netflix series The Crown and Jupiter's Legacy. Furthermore, Daniels landed the character of General Bel Riose in the Apple TV+ science fiction series Foundation in 2023. Daniels' career is marked by notable performances on Broadway, such as his role in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, earning him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play. Asides from acting, Daniels is an amateur painter and a practitioner of Ashtanga yoga. From a young age to his early forties, Daniels suffered from sleep paralysis, indicating his journey went beyond professional achievements.
