Beth Grant

**Beth Grant**, born on September 18, 1949, is an established American character actress very well known for dynamic roles she has portrayed throughout her career. Between 2012 and 2017, Beth was a series regular on the popular television comedy *The Mindy Project* where she depicted the character of Beverly Janoszewski. Aside from this, she gained much acclaim for her role as Gracie Leigh in the CBS post-apocalyptic drama *Jericho* and as Marianne Marie Beetle in *Wonderfalls*. Her versatile acting skills stretched to numerous famous shows like *Pushing Daisies* and *Mockingbird Lane*. In her film career, some of the roles that accentuated her acting prowess includes Mother at Farm House in *Rain Man* (1988), Miss Kettlewell in *Child's Play 2* (1990), Carla Jean's Mother in *No Country for Old Men* (2007), and Peppy's maid in *The Artist* (2011). Throughout her acting journey, Beth has acted in three Oscar Best Picture winners including *Rain Man*, *Speed*, and *No Country for Old Men*. In addition to her illustrious acting career, Beth Grant's life is quite remarkable as well. She was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama and then moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where she graduated from New Hanover High School. She pursued Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing and graduated from East Carolina University in 1973. Post her graduation, she moved to New York City to pursue her acting career. She credits her mother who worked as a manager for the North Carolina Employment Security Commission and was an Equal Rights Amendment activist, for inspiring her to become an actress. She married actor Michael Chieffo since 1984 or 1985 and the couple share a daughter, Mary Chieffo. Now, Beth lives with her family in Los Angeles.
