Bill Sage

**Bill Sage**, born as **William Sage III** on April 3rd 1962, is an American actor. He is most recognized not only for his fruitful collaborations with director *Hal Hartley* but also for his wide-ranging career spreading over more than 90 movies. Sage's notable performances are visible in films like *American Psycho (2000)*, *We Are What We Are (2013)*, *Every Secret Thing (2014)*, and *Wrong Turn (2021)*. Born and raised in **New York City**, Sage completed his education from **State University of New York at Purchase**. His screen debut happened with the 1989 comedy-drama film *The Unbelievable Truth* written and directed by Hal Hartley, going on to continue working in several of Hartley's movies such as *Trust (1990)*, *Simple Men (1992)*, and *Flirt (1995)*. Sage's performance in the 1996 biographical drama film *I Shot Andy Warhol* and later in *American Psycho (2000)*, both directed by Mary Harron, were highly appreciated. His work in horror films like *We Are What We Are (2013)* and *Wrong Turn (2021)* earned him two Fangoria Chainsaw Awards nominations. Apart from his successful film career, Bill Sage also made an influential impact on television. He guest-starred on several popular series such as Sex and the City, Melrose Place, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Third Watch, NCIS, multiple Law & Order series, Person of Interest, Orange Is the New Black, and The Good Fight. He had recurring roles on Nurse Jackie (2010-11), Boardwalk Empire (2011), and Power (2017–18). Sage's remarkable versatility is also visible in his role in the first season of SundanceTV drama series, Hap, and Leonard.
