Born on January 10 1980 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he grew up immersed in a cinematic environment as the son of renowned filmmaker David Cronenberg and the brother of photographer Caitlin Cronenberg, fostering an early fascination with storytelling across media. After studying film at Toronto Metropolitan University, he honed his craft by creating the short Broken Tulips (2008), a unsettling piece about celebrity‑derived viruses that foreshadowed his debut feature.
