Brett Gelman

**Brett Gelman**, born October 6, 1976, is an American actor, comedian, producer, and writer. He's best known for roles like Murray Bauman in Netflix's horror-supernatural series _Stranger Things_ and Martin in the BBC comedy _Fleabag_. His career kick-started in the 2000s as a comedian and gained notable recognition in the following decade for his involvement in numerous Adult Swim shows, such as _Eagleheart_ and comedy specials in 2014 and 2015. He's also been part of the main casts of the NBC sitcom _Go On_, the Comedy Central series _Another Period_, and the FX comedy series _Married_. In the late 2010s, Brett became even more prominent due to his roles in _Fleabag_ and _Stranger Things_, and on _Camping_ and _Mr. Mercedes_. Brett has voiced characters in TV series such as _Jeff & Some Aliens_ and _TripTank_ on Comedy Central and, more recently, _I Heart Arlo_ and _Inside Job_ on Netflix. He is set to star in the upcoming drama series _Lady in the Lake_. Gelman was born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois, where he graduated from Highland Park High School before attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he received classical training in theater. After college, Gelman moved to New York City and was a regular performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He has appeared in films such as _The Other Guys_ and _30 Minutes or Less_, TV shows like _Bored to Death_, _Curb Your Enthusiasm_, and _The Office_. He also written for MTV's _Human Giant_ and the sketch pilot 'The Right Now! Show'. In 2017, he starred in and co-wrote _Lemon_, opposite Judy Greer, Michael Cera, Nia Long, and Gillian Jacobs, directed by Janicza Bravo. In 2018, he starred in feature film Room for Rent. In 2022, he was declared the star of the Apple TV+ drama series _Lady in the Lake_.
