Bruce Davis

Bruce McGregor Davis, born October 5, 1942, is an American criminal and former member of the notorious Manson Family. Davis was Charles Manson's reputed 'right-hand man'. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, Davis grew up in Mobile, Alabama. During his youth, he served as the editor of his high school yearbook and dropped out of the University of Tennessee after three years due to poor grades. In 1962, Davis relocated to California and found work as a barback at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. Described by some as a drifter, he often indulged in substance usage such as cannabis and LSD.

Davis met Charles Manson and associates in 1967 in Oregon. His life took a dark turn when he became involved with the Manson family, participating in illicit activities that would ultimately lead to his arrest. Davis travelled to Europe in November 1968 and claimed to have been introduced to Scientology in London, contradicting Manson's own claims about the cult. Davis worked at the Church of Scientology headquarters in London until April 1969 and noticed a significant change in Manson's ideology upon his return. Davis was involved in the infamous Manson Family murders, most specifically the murder of Spahn's Ranch hand Donald 'Shorty' Shea. After these disturbing events, Davis went into hiding and eventually surrendered to authorities on December 2, 1970. Since beginning his life sentence in prison on April 21, 1972, Davis has become a preacher and maintained a clean disciplinary record.
