Byron Mann, also known as Chan originally, (born 13 August 1967) is an esteemed Hong Kong-American actor recognized for his compelling contributions to television and cinema. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he is an actor best known for eclectic array of roles such as Ryu in Street Fighter, Silver Lion in The Man with the Iron Fists, Wing Chau in The Big Short, and Uncle Six in the Netflix series Wu Assassins. Furthermore, he has made noteworthy performances as Admiral Augusto Nguyen on The Expanse and Chang on Hell on Wheels.
Mann's linguistic prowess is also remarkable. He was brought up bilingual, gaining fluency in English and Cantonese. Later, for his roles, he also mastered Mandarin and acquired some knowledge of Thai for his role in the 2013 film A Stranger in Paradise. Mann's athletic talents also extend to tennis and wushu, showcasing his skills in a several of movies including Invincible and Street Fighter. His film debut was in 1990 in the movie Last Flight Out.
