**Cameron Diaz** is an American actress known for her comedic and dramatic roles. Her films have grossed over $3 billion at the U.S. box-office, making her one of Hollywood's highest earning actresses. Diaz began her career as a model before making her film debut opposite Jim Carrey in *The Mask* in 1994. She followed this up with a string of successful films in the 90s and early 2000s, including *My Best Friend's Wedding*, *There's Something About Mary* and *Charlie's Angels*. Diaz has been acclaimed for her performances in films such as *Being John Malkovich*, *Vanilla Sky* and *Gangs of New York*. She took a break from acting in 2014 to focus on her family, but returned to the profession in 2022. Diaz has also written two health books, and her personal life has garnered much media attention, particularly her relationships and fashion choices. Born in San Diego, California, Diaz was raised in Long Beach and signed a modelling contract while still at high school. She has an elder sister, Chimene, and her father's family is of Cuban descent. Diaz's mother has predominantly English and German ancestry. She married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden in 2015 and they have two children. In addition to her acting career, Diaz has been involved in environmental activism and has worked as an advocate for military families.
