Carlo Rota

Carlo Dante Rota, born on April 17, 1961, in London, England, is a highly respected British-born Canadian actor who has made notable appearances in various film and television series. Born to Italian parents, Rota spent a significant portion of his life traveling and living in different parts of the world, including Hong Kong, the Bahamas, and the U.K, before finally settling in Toronto. Prior to pursuing his passion for acting, Rota was involved in the culinary industry, owning multiple restaurants in Toronto. He made his decision to switch careers and pursue acting at the age of 30. His acting career took off when he secured roles in the Canadian TV show 'Street Legal' and the independent film 'Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould'. Rota has made appearances in esteemed TV series such as '24', 'Queer as Folk', 'Castle', 'La Femme Nikita', and 'Little Mosque on the Prairie'. He also hosted the 'Great Canadian Food Show', incorporating his culinary background into his acting career. He combined his versatile acting prowess with his cultural and culinary enquiry, earning the show a nomination for the James Beard Award for Excellence in Culinary Journalism.
