Carmen Argenziano was a prolific American actor whose career spanned five decades, earning him a reputation as a reliable character performer in both film and television. Born on October 27, 1943 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he grew up in nearby Sharpsville as the son of Italian‑heritage parents, restaurateur Joseph Guy Argenziano and Elizabeth Stella Falvo, an upbringing that instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for storytelling. After moving to Los Angeles, he became a lifetime member of the Actors Studio, sharpening his craft and eventually breaking into screen work in the late 1960s. His early film appearances included a minor part in The Godfather Part II, and he quickly added a diverse range of roles to his résumé, from the courtroom drama of L.A. Law to the melodramatic intrigues of The Young and the Restless. Argenziano’s most celebrated television role was Jacob Carter, the compassionate and witty uncle of Samantha Carter on the long‑running sci‑fi series Stargate SG‑1, a part that earned him a devoted fan base and multiple guest appearances across the franchise.
