He shot to stardom for his portrayal of Jax Teller in the FX series Sons of Anarchy (2008–2014), earning two Critics' Choice Television Award nominations for Best Actor. Hunnam has been in lead roles in a variety of films - Pacific Rim (2013), Crimson Peak (2015), Triple Frontier (2019), and The Gentlemen (2019) among the most notable. His performance as Percy Fawcett in The Lost City of Z (2016) and Arthur Pendragon in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) allowed him to showcase his wide range in acting. Hunnam's involvement with TV dramas extends back to his roles in Queer as Folk (1999–2000), Undeclared (2001–2002), and the recent Apple TV+ series Shantaram (2022). Born in Newcastle upon Tyne on 10 April 1980 to Jane Bell, a ballet dancer, and William Hunnam, Charlie studied performing arts at the Cumbria College of Art and Design after a tumultuous high school experience. Hunnam's acting career kicked off when he was spotted in a JD Sports store, and his first role, Jason in the show Byker Grove, soon followed.
