Claude Aubrey Akins (May 25, 1926 – January 27, 1994) was a detailed American character actor known for his roles in various television series and films. The Indiana-born actor made a name for himself in the world of acting, beginning with his work in Broadway in the late 1940s. He then transitioned into film, being signed up by talent agent Meyer Mishkin and joining his group of 'Meyer Mishkin's Band of Uglies.' Akins made notable appearances in films like 'From Here to Eternity,' 'The Caine Mutiny,' and 'Rio Bravo,' showcasing his array of talents.

In TV, Akins was a regular presence, appearing in numerous shows such as 'Superman,' 'I Love Lucy,' 'Gunsmoke,' 'Bonanza,' and 'The Twilight Zone.' He is particularly remembered for his roles as Sonny Pruitt in NBC's 'Movin' On' and as Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo in 'The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.' Akins continued to work in the industry into his late years, lending his voice for work safety instructional videos in the late 1980s. Sadly, he died of stomach cancer in Altadena, California, leaving a legacy as a prolific and versatile actor.
