Cristi Lea Conaway (born August 14, 1964) is an American actress and fashion designer who first gained public attention in the early 1990s after moving from her native Texas to Los Angeles to pursue a career in front of the camera. Raised in Lubbock, Texas, she is the daughter of a car dealer father and a real‑estate‑agent mother, and she later attended Southern Methodist University where she studied acting before embarking on professional work.
