Cybill Lynne Shepherd (born February 18, 1950) is an American actress, singer and former model. Her film career began with her memorable debut as Jacy Farrow in Peter Bogdanovich's coming-of-age drama The Last Picture Show (1971), which also starred Jeff Bridges. Her other significant roles include Kelly in The Heartbreak Kid (1972), Betsy in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976), and Nancy in Woody Allen's Alice (1990). On television, she gained prominence as Colleen Champion in The Yellow Rose (1983) and as Madelyn Hayes in Moonlighting (1985–1989), which earned her two Golden Globes. As Cybill Sheridan on Cybill (1995–1998), she snagged her third Golden Globe. She's also known for her performances in The L Word (2007–2009), Psych (2008–2013), and The Client List (2010, 2012–2013). Shepherd's early life in Memphis, Tennessee involved winning beauty pageants and modelling before she caught the eye of film director Peter Bogdanovich.\n Throughout her career, she teamed up with leading actors and directors and made significant contributions to stage, film and television. In her personal life, she has been married twice and has three children. Aside from her acting career, she is also an outspoken activist and has published an autobiography (Cybill Disobedience). Despite a few career setbacks, Shepherd has always made a comeback, earning her a special place in Hollywood.
