What's After the Movie
Daiki Arioka (有岡 大貴, born April 15, 1991) is a multifaceted Japanese entertainer best known as a vocalist and dancer of the popular Johnny’s idol group Hey! Say! JUMP. Raised in Chiba Prefecture, he entered the world of show business at the age of nine when he joined the talent agency Johnny & Associates as a trainee, quickly gaining attention as a member of the junior unit J.J.Express and earlier as part of the Junes Project. His early exposure to television came in 2001 with a guest role in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, and by 2005 he secured a supporting part opposite veteran Takuya Kimura in the drama Engine, showcasing his budding acting skills at just fourteen. In 2007 Arioka was selected for the temporary project Hey! Say! 7, a precursor to the formation of Hey! Say! JUMP, and officially debuted with the group on September 21, 2007, where he has contributed not only as a performer but also as a lyricist and occasional arranger on tracks such as “Time” and “RELOAD”. Beyond his musical activities, Arioka has built a steady acting résumé that spans television, film, and stage. Notable television credits include Sensei wa Erai! (2008), the Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo series (2013‑2014), and a recurring role as Souma Natori in the medical drama Code Blue 3 (2017). His film work features roles in Jam Films 2: Fastener (2004), the sci‑fi thriller Innocent Curse (2017), and the blockbuster Shin Ultraman (2022) where he portrayed Akihisa Taki. Known for his energetic stage presence, he often incorporates rap verses into Hey! Say! JUMP songs, exemplified by his self‑written rap in “Sakura Saita yo”. In June 2024 Arioka announced his marriage to fellow actress Mayu Matsuoka, marking a new personal milestone while he continues to balance singing, acting, and his work as a television personality.
