Danielle Louise Macdonald, born in 1991 in Sydney, Australia, is an internationally recognized Australian actress renowned for her lead roles in popular films such as Patti Cake$ (2017) and Dumplin' (2018). Known for her rich Italian and Scottish heritage, Macdonald quickly rose to fame due to her prowess in drama. Beyond her lead roles, her notable filmography also includes her roles in Bird Box as Olympia, Skin (2018) as Julie, Netflix series Unbelievable as Amber, and the BBC One/Stan/HBO Max thriller series, The Tourist as Helen.

From a young age, Macdonald demonstrated an affinity for performing arts, attending the esteemed Australian Institute for Performing Arts. After deciding on a career in acting, she moved to Los Angeles, kick-starting her professional journey with her first film, The East, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
