Dean Gerard Winters, born on July 20, 1964, is a nationally applauded American actor acknowledged for his diverse roles across multiple television series. Known for his remarkable talent, he won the hearts of many through his character as Ryan O'Reily on the HBO prison drama called Oz. His acting journey includes remarkable performances in the TV series Millennium, Rescue Me, 30 Rock, Sex and the City, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His character, 'Mayhem' in the Allstate Insurance commercials, is also widely recognized. Dean played 'The Vulture' on the comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine and shared the screen with other stars in the Netflix film The Out-Laws and the AMC series Monsieur Spade in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Born and raised on Long Island, New York City, Dean is of Irish and Italian descent and speaks fluent Italian. Not confining his talent to acting alone, Dean has also made a mark in stand-up comedy, performing alongside prominent comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Reiser, and Chris Rock at renown places like Catch a Rising Star, The Comic Strip, and the Comedy Cellar. Dean, having a challenging personal life with health issues like neuropathy and encountering cardiac arrest due to a bacterial infection followed by multiple surgeries and amputation of two of his toes and half of one of his thumbs, has always come back strong, true to his spirit, making his journey all the more inspiring.
