Delroy Lindo

Delroy George Lindo, born on 18 November 1952, is a prominent English–American actor acclaimed for a host of awards including an NAACP Image Award, a Satellite Award, and nominations for a Drama Desk Award, a Helen Hayes Award, a Tony Award, two Critics' Choice Television Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. At age 16, Lindo moved with his mother from London to San Francisco, after a brief period in Canada. It was here where he completed his education and ventured into acting. Lindo has had significant roles in four Spike Lee films such as Malcolm X (1992), Crooklyn (1994), Clockers (1995), and Da 5 Bloods (2020). Having won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor, Lindo's portrayal of a Vietnam War veteran in Da 5 Bloods received profound acclaim.\n Lindo is also known for roles in Get Shorty (1995), The Cider House Rules (1999), and Gone in 60 Seconds (2000). On the small screen, he starred as Alderman Ronin Gibbons in The Chicago Code (2011), Winter on the series Believe (2014), and Adrian Boseman in The Good Fight (2017–2021). As a young child, Lindo discovered his passion for acting by playing in a school nativity. At age 24, Lindo began studying acting at the American Conservatory Theater, graduating in 1979. From theatre to film through the science fiction film Salute of the Jugger (1990), despite rejecting a role in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, Lindo then played roles in Lee's Crooklyn (1994) and Malcolm X, which propelled his career forward.
