Denise Dillon, widely known as Denny Dillon, is an American actress and comedian with a career span of over four decades. She gained recognition for her performance as Toby Pedalbee on HBO's comedy, Dream On, from 1990 to 1996. Initially renowned for her stage work, Denny was even nominated for a Tony Award on Broadway. She spent one season as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1981, then co-starred in the Fox sitcom Women in Prison. Her Broadway performances include the 1974 revival of Gypsy, the 1975 revival of Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth, and the 1980 stage version of Harold and Maude. Denny's debut on the big screen was in Saturday Night Live's fever, where she played Doreen, who interacts with John Travolta's character, Tony. Not only has she performed on stage and screen, but Dillon has also contributed her voice-over skills in various animated TV shows, such as The Magic of Herself the Elf and the animated film Ice Age. Since 2006, Denny has been leading the Improv Nation and is recognized as an Artist in-Residence at SUNY Ulster where she teaches improvisation. She has stated her sexuality as gay in an interview with Vulture in 2020, mentioning her marriage to Barbara Smiley.
