Eddie Griffin

Eddie Griffin, born Edward Rubin Griffin on July 15, 1968, is an American stand-up comedian and actor, renowned for his work spanning various genres inclusive of but not restricted to improvisational comedy, observational comedy, blue comedy and satire. Griffin, who kicked off his career in 1989, is recognized for his comedic rendition of African-American culture, race relations, politics, religion, and recreational drug use. He is widely celebrated for his roles in the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie, the 2002 comedy film Undercover Brother and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. In his illustrious career, he has lent his voice to Richard Pryor on Black Dynamite and delivered memorable performances in films like John Q., Scary Movie 3, and Norbit.

Griffin's early life was spent in Kansas city, raised single-handedly by his mother, a phone operator. Following a brief stint in the U.S. Navy and subsequent discharge, Griffin channeled his energies towards stand-up comedy, earning his first standing ovation in 1989. Over the years, Griffin has established himself in films and television shows, even contributing to tracks from Dr. Dre's 1999 album, 2001. Amidst his personal life's tumultuous journey including four marriages, Griffin continued to entertain audiences with his stand-up comedy specials on Comedy Central and Showtime. Despite controversies and personal struggles, Griffin perseveres, hinting at his interest in participating in future United States Presidential elections.
