Edi Mūe Gathegi, born on March 10, 1979 in Nairobi, Kenya, is a Kenyan-American actor known for his versatility in various roles. Gathegi grew up in Albany, California, U.S. and studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara and New York University's Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts. His acting career began in theatre, with numerous stage credits. His first professional film role was in Crank (2006), and he later enjoyed success with appearances in high-profile productions like House, Twilight series, X-Men: First Class, AMC series Into the Badlands, NBC television series The Blacklist and its spin-off series, The Blacklist: Redemption. His most recent role is Dev Ayesa in the Apple TV+ original science fiction series 'For All Mankind.' He is also set to play Mister Terrific in James Gunn's film Superman (2025).

In his early career, Gathegi appeared in multiple TV series, including Lincoln Heights and Veronica Mars, and films like Death Sentence, The Fifth Patient, and Gone Baby Gone. He had a recurring role on House as Dr. Jeffrey Cole, a character who was often mocked for his religion. He is a true fan of the Twilight series, having read all the books despite initially being unaware that his character, Laurent, was a vampire.
