Elliott Gould

Elliott Gould, born as Elliott Goldstein on August 29, 1938, is a celebrated American actor with distinct credits in film and television. His break into stardom was the 1969 film _Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice_, earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to impress the film industry with great performances in _M*A*S*H_ (1970), _The Long Goodbye_ (1973), and _California Split_ (1974). Other significant roles include _Little Murders_ (1971), _A Bridge Too Far_ (1977), _American History X_ (1998) and the Steven Soderbergh’s _Ocean's_ series. In addition to his film work, he is known for his television presence, notably as a host on SNL and his recurring role as Jack Geller on _Friends_. He further featured in series like _Mulaney_ and _Ray Donovan_. Apart from acting, Gould ventured into Broadway in late 1950s, debuting in _Rumple_ (1957) and continued with minor roles in _Say, Darling_, and _Irma La Douce_. His production initiatives include Bruce Jay Friedman's _The Dick_, Bernard Malamud's _The Assistant_, and _Little Murders_, though _The Dick_ and _The Assistant_ were never made.
