Emily Margaret Watson OBE, born on 14 January 1967, is a celebrated British actress recognised for her myriad commendable performances. Launching her career on stage, she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1992 and graced the limelight starring in productions of 'Twelfth Night' and 'Uncle Vanya' at Donmar Warehouse. For her characteristically compelling performance in 'Uncle Vanya', she earned a nomination for the 2003 Olivier Award for Best Actress. Watson's film portfolio is illustrious, with debut movie role in Lars von Trier's 'Breaking the Waves' (1996) winning her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress, a feat she repeated for her riveting portrayal of Jacqueline du Pré in 'Hilary and Jackie' (1998).

Watson's filmography is abundant and diverse, extending to popular titles like 'The Boxer' (1997), 'Gosford Park' (2001), 'Punch-Drunk Love' (2002), 'Red Dragon' (2002), and 'The Theory of Everything' (2014) among many others.
