What's After the Movie
Finn Wolfhard, born on December 23, 2002, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is a Canadian actor and musician. His acting journey began with a role in the 2012 music video for the song 'Retro Oceans' by the Vancouver band, 'Facts'. He is particularly known for playing Mike Wheeler on the Netflix series Stranger Things (2016–present) and Richie Tozier in the horror film It and It Chapter Two. Additionally, he starred in the supernatural comedy Ghostbusters: Afterlife and its sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Along with acting, he made his directorial debut with the comedy short film Night Shifts and later directed the feature Hell of a Summer. As a musician, he was the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band Calpurnia, and has been a member of The Aubreys since 2020.
Wolfhard's career spans various mediums, including animation where he starred in Netflix's Carmen Sandiego as 'Player'. He also made his modelling debut in Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter '19 campaign and lent his voice to animated productions like 'Smiling Friends' and 'JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales'. His distinguished performance in both Stranger Things and It, both of which were set in the 1980s, is a testament to his versatile acting prowess. After finances forced his predecessor to leave It, Wolfhard seized the opportunity to audition again and won the Richie Tozier role. From his appearances in music videos and his lending voice to animations, to starring in critically acclaimed series and movies, and even directing his own film, Wolfhard's career path is marked by a restless and constant exploration of various aspects of the film industry.
