Hana Mae Lee

Hana Mae Lee (born September 28, 1988) is an accomplished American actress, model, comedian, and fashion designer. She is known for her versatile talents, showcasing her range in roles from the musical comedy Pitch Perfect film series (2012–2017), where she portrayed Lilly Onakurama, to Sonya in the horror comedy film The Babysitter (2017) and its 2020 sequel. Beyond her acting pursuits, Lee is also an entrepreneur and fashion designer who owns the fashion line Hanamahn. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, Lee attended Granada Hills Charter High School and enrolled in college at the age of 16. She holds a BFA in fashion design from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California, and has even designed for prominent labels like Juicy Couture, and Mossimo. She turned down a lucrative opportunity to work for Ralph Lauren in New York to further pursue her acting career. Lee's professional beginnings were in her mother's beauty and hair salon where she commenced her work in makeup, eventually transitioning to editorial photo shoots.

By the tender age of 16, Lee had already become a professional model. She has appeared in campaigns for numerous high-profile brands such as Honda, Jeep, Apple Inc., Nokia, American Express, HP, Cherry Coke, and Midori and featured in renowned magazines including TIME, SOMA, Elle, and Teen Vogue. Answering her comedic call, Lee began doing stand-up comedy in 2009, even incorporating Korean folk music into her performances. Her fashion line, Hanamahn, started in 2001 and its apparel line launched in 2009; several of the pieces have even appeared in the Pitch Perfect films. As of 2018, the brand is on hiatus, with a sister line in development. Lee's TV debut was in 2011, guest starring on Mike & Molly, followed by an appearance on Workaholics. Lee was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Scene Stealer in 2013 for her role in Pitch Perfect and reprised her role in the sequels Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Pitch Perfect 3 (2017).
