Heather Elizabeth Langenkamp, born on July 17, 1964, is an acclaimed American actress, director, producer, writer, and disc jockey. Recognized for her remarkable portrayal as Nancy Thompson in Wes Craven's slasher film 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' (1984), she successfully secured her status as a popular culture icon and certified 'scream queen'. She reprised this role in 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors' (1987), and played a meta fictional version of herself in 'Wes Craven's New Nightmare'(1994), which garnered her a spot in the Fangoria Chainsaw Hall of Fame in 1995. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Langenkamp began her career as an extra in productions like 'The Outsiders' (1983) and 'Rumble Fish' (1983), and received acclaim for a lead role in 'Nickel Mountain' (1984). Working in sitcoms like 'Growing Pains' (1988-1990) and 'Just the Ten of Us' (1988-1990), her career experienced renewed vigor after she was cast as Dr. Georgina Stanton in 'The Midnight Club' (2022).
