Hemky Madera is a remarkably talented American actor, born on January 26, 1977. He set off his acting journey in the Dominican Republic with television production Grandes Series Dominicanas, where he performed leading roles in the acclaimed mini-series En La Olla and Trio en Alta Mar. These series were directed by the respected Dominican director and producer, Alfonso Rodríguez. Pop culture fans may best recognize him from his roles as Mr. Delmar in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Carlos in the Netflix original, Kaleidoscope. Hemky Madera was born prematurely in Queens to Luis and Gisela Madera. After his birth, he was moved back to Santiago, Dominican Republic. He moved to New York City after finishing college to focus on his acting career wholeheartedly; he began by working on The Bookie's Lament (2000) production with Gabriel Macht, afterwards returning to the Dominican Republic where he starred in the mini-series Asalto en la Lincoln and sitcoms Ciudad Nueva and Los Electrolocos. He has worked in major feature films alongside industry heavyweights such as Harvey Keitel, Andy García, and Johnny Depp. In addition, Madera is no stranger to the stage, having worked in productions such as Icarus and Aria and Feast of the Goat. He's had recurring roles on TV series like Weeds and Brockmire. Madera distinguished himself with his portrayal of Pote Gálvez in Queen of the South on USA Network. He conveys a rich depth of character and remains a highly respected figure in the acting industry.
