Hichem Yacoubi

**Hichem Yacoubi** is a talented Tunisian-born French actor, best known for his role in the critically-acclaimed film _A Prophet (Un prophète)_ in 2009, directed by Jacques Audiard. Born on April 4, 1964, in Tunis, Tunisia, Yacoubi has had a rich acting career that officially began in 2005. Besides acting, Yacoubi's creative pursuits extended to theatre and dance. He even participated in a course at the reputed Actors Studio. Yacoubi has not only acted but also co-directed and co-wrote the screenplay of a short film with Daniel Kupferstein, showcasing his versatile talent. In _A Prophet_, Yacoubi played the character of Reyeb, an incarcerated Arab who serves a critical role as a witness to a crime. Despite being a hostile witness against a mafia group, his character has a pronounced impact throughout the film and manifests as a symbol of the main character's conscience.
